Welcome to the Perry Removals Letchworth website. This website has been designed to help you through the process of moving home with information not only on the removal itself but on other pre and post removal day issues.
The three villages of Willan, Norton, and Letchworth were all named in the Domesday book and as early as 1903 an idea, conceived by Ebenezer Howard, was developed in the area to build the worlds first 'Garden City'.
It was not just a plan of the buildings but also a format of how the community would be run. 'Cheap Cottages' exhibitions were run to get ideas for construction and layout, and from these the 'Ideal Home Exhibition' in London was later to become a flagship for home design. The Letchworth Garden City project became a model from which other cities in Finland, Germany and Canberra, the capital of Australia, would all draw inspiration. Todays Letchworth has a population of over 34,000.
Famous people connected with Letchworth include TV presenter Jamie Bond, actor Laurence Olivier and film director Michael Winner.
The Spirella building, built between 1912 and 1920 was created for the Spirella Corset Company. Today, this grade II listed building is used for offices, a cafe and a fitness centre.
