Welcome to the Perry Removals Cheshunt website. This website has been designed to help you through the process of moving home with information not only on the removal itself but on other pre and post removal day issues.
With a population, including Broxbourne, in excess of 83,000 Cheshunt is the home of Tesco, one of the UKs largest employers. Over the years it has been home to Queen Elizabeth 1st. before taking the throne, also Sir Cliff Richard, Victoria Beckham, Cardinal Wolsey and the Olympic Gold medal cyclist Laura Trott. In 1951 Lotus Cars were moved by Colin Chapman to Cheshunt, before later moving to Hethel in Norfolk.
The River Lea Navigation passes through Cheshunt, which was used to transport the many crops and flowers in to London by barge. Thomas Rochford established many acres of glasshouses and used the then new techniques to increase crop yield. Much of this market gardening land has now succumbed to major housing developments. The Rochford nurseries legacy is reflected in many of the new road names in the area.
The River Lea runs through Cheshunt near the railway station where the 1.21km horse-drawn line was the first passenger-carrying monorail and the first railway line to be built in Hertfordshire. Since the end of WW2 large scale extraction of gravel and sand from the River Lea flood plains, resulted in large mature lakes which now form part of the 1000 acre River Lee Country Park.
